Impact Youth Mentorship – Founded in 1998
Does your child need a positive role model and mentor? Do you want to make a difference in the youth within our community? Do you know of a youth that would like you to be their mentor? If you answered YES, then our IMPACT Youth Mentorship Program is just the place for you! Our Community-Based Mentoring and Site-Based Mentoring offer different ways to get involved. Community-Based Mentoring:
- Matches meet for a minimum of one hour per week and a minimum of one year.
- Offers flexible meeting times and locations.
- Mentors pick up their mentees once a week from their home and/or Youth Emergency Services, Inc.
- They can do various activities with their mentee in the community and help their mentees develop skills essential to overcoming issues young people face these days.
- Mentors must be able to pass and complete the screening process, follow all policies and procedures, and be 21 years of age or older.
Site-Based Mentoring
- Matches meet for a minimum of two hour per weeks and a minimum of one year.
- Matches meet in designated location at a designated time each week.
- Staff facilitate the groups, provide support to mentors, and provide activities/curriculum to follow.
- Mentors in this program can participate in various activities within the location and help implement essential skills and tools to help their mentee overcome topics such as bullying, substance abuse and truancy.
- Mentors must be able to pass and complete the screening process, follow all policies and procedures, and be 18 years of age or older.
